SA Genealogies Vol 9 indicates that Maria Christina Geertruy Roets was (also) married to Johannes David Celliers, son of Charl (Sarel) Celliers and Elizabeth Catharina Louw in 1841 and if this is true it may indicate that Willem Jacobus Smit (1797) died before 1841.
