I am involved with technology for education &#8211; say it anyway you want to: Technology Applied Learning, telematics, e-learning. Some call me a gadget fanatic and I will\u00a0confess that I love gadgets and having fun with technology and love sharing that with others, whether formal or in-formal. Call me what you want, but I love education and I love technology &#8211; Bringing the two together in one job is like having heaven on earth&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You will also find information on my <em><strong>Smit family tree<\/strong><\/em>. Genealogy is the history that shaped me and whatever happened, good or bad\u00a0happened &#8211; I just have to accept that. My\u00a0ancestors landed in 1886 in South Africa from the Netherlands and Germany, met up and 14 generations later we have an expanded family with a rich Southern African history. Visit the genealogy pages and explore the family tree information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Visit the <em><strong>blog<\/strong><\/em> to see my own ramblings on education\u00a0 &#8211; I do work in Higher Education and thus I do try\u00a0the academic research thing and I do some paper research with\u00a0intellectual\u00a0citations\u00a0to the academic ghuru&#8217;s, but coming from an engineering background I need to see actual use and practical implementation &#8211; having to sit in endless highly theoretical academic discussions and academic conferences, listening to true academic rhetoric, (sometimes based of very fluffy conceptual jargon) can be a challenge for any mind. I would prefer to leave high level academic discussions and research writing\u00a0to the pedagogy-gagwriters&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In my spare time and to try and balance life I just love to travel all over the world, but there is nothing bringing a human back to earth as to be close up to nature and wild animals in their own habitat &#8211; well try and intimidate the African big 5 in their own space without protection&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi there!
